Latest IC3 Report Includes 800,944 complaints of suspected internet crime – a 5% decrease from 2021

The 2022 IC3 Internet Crime Report sheds light on the prevailing cyber threats that face our businesses and our personal lives. While at a quick glance, it may seem like internet crime incidents are improving, the seriousness of ransomware continues to grow. In fact, ransomware grew from $6.9 billion in 2021 to more than $10.2 billion in 2022.

The FBI encourages victims of cyber incidents to report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) to combat the growing cyber threat, which has caused potential total losses of over $10.2 billion in 2022.
